Alhaji Bako Bala, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, met a tragic end on Wednesday when he was kidnapped and murdered by gunmen. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, occurred in Bala’ s hometown.
According to reports shared by Alhaji Zaidu Bala Kofa Sabuwa, the Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on Television and Radio, the armed attackers shot Bala before abandoning him, leaving him gravely injured in a pool of his own blood. The attack took place in what is becoming a disturbingly familiar pattern of violent criminal activity in the state.
Bala was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi in a desperate attempt to save his life. However, despite the medical team’ s efforts, he ultimately succumbed to the severity of his injuries and was pronounced dead on the same day. His death has not only deepened the insecurity felt by residents of Kebbi State but has also highlighted the growing threat posed by armed criminal groups operating in the region.
