TINUBU Receives UNEXPECTED Demand To Sack This Performing Ministers; See The No 1 Name On The List
As political rumblings echo through Nigeria’ s capital, a top chieftain of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP), Dare Glintstone Akinniyi, has raised his voice, calling for President Bola Tinubu to initiate a significant reshuffle of his cabinet. The target of Akinniyi’ s demands is none other than Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. According to Akinniyi, Wike’ s tenure has been plagued by unnecessary distractions, and his political maneuvers overshadow his ministerial duties.
During an interview with Legit. ng on September 30, Akinniyi did not hold back, describing Wike as a ” noisemaker” who has brought undue political baggage into Tinubu’ s administration. The PDP chieftain criticized Wike for being more focused on his political ambitions for 2027 rather than fulfilling his current responsibilities as the head of the FCT. Akinniyi stated, ” He has brought excessive noise and political baggage to this government. Instead of focusing on his duties, he’ s already skimming for 2027. ” In a bold suggestion, Akinniyi recommended that Tinubu remove Wike and consider a complete overhaul of his cabinet. He argued that about 80% of the current ministers are not performing up to par, labeling them as ” mere placeholders” who are not contributing to the achievement of Tinubu’ s much- touted ” Renewed Hope Agenda. ”
While Wike was at the forefront of Akinniyi’ s criticism, he did acknowledge the efforts of a few ministers. According to Akinniyi, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji- Ojo, the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, are the few exceptions who have been performing admirably in their roles. He emphasized that these three individuals are doing their best, and their contributions should be recognized. However, for the remaining ministers, Akinniyi had no reservations, suggesting that a majority of them should be replaced for failing to meet expectations.
Akinniyi’ s remarks come as rumors of an impending cabinet reshuffle under Tinubu’ s administration grow louder. Reports indicate that at least 11 ministers may be on the chopping block, as Tinubu seeks to revamp his team in a bid to address Nigeria’ s mounting economic and political challenges. According to Akinniyi, reshuffling the cabinet is a necessary step, but it will not be enough to solve Nigeria’ s problems unless more competent individuals are brought in to replace those who are underperforming. ” The government should always reshuffle cabinets when they feel they aren’ t performing well, ” Akinniyi explained. ” But considering the poor performance of this government so far, I recommend sacking 80% of the ministers. They have failed to deliver, and most are mere placeholders. ”
Akinniyi also made a case for appointing competent individuals from both inside and outside the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He noted that while the APC has talented people, there are also qualified professionals outside the party who could contribute to achieving Tinubu’ s Renewed Hope Agenda. ” A few key replacements can turn the tide in favor of the people, ” Akinniyi suggested. ” There are competent individuals inside and outside the APC who can be consulted and appointed. There’ s still time to bring in sensible ministers to keep the ship from sinking. “
