Meanwhile, following the event, students of Belgium Catholic university circulated a statement expressing their ” disapproval and incomprehension” of his viewpoints.
According to the statement, ” UCLouvain deplores the conservative positions expressed by Pope Francis on the role of women in society. ”
Nothing has changed despite the Pope’ s two commissions to consider women serving as deacons, the lowest ranking position in the clergy, in the all- male Catholic Church.
