According to Aziegbemi, the data on the IREV indicates that the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 25, 010 votes, whereas the form EC8C reports a different figure of 34, 847 votes. Furthermore, he highlighted a similar inconsistency for the PDP, noting that the total votes recorded on the IREV stand at 18, 620, while the figure announced by the Local Government returning officer on form EC8C is 15, 865.
Expressing deep concern over these discrepancies, Aziegbemi emphasized the potential implications these irregularities may have on the credibility of the electoral process. He has called upon INEC to promptly investigate and rectify these discrepancies to uphold the integrity and transparency of the election.

In a statement, Aziegbemi stated- ” The discrepancies between the figures on the IREV and form EC8C raise serious questions about the integrity of the electoral process. Immediate action is necessary to address these concerns and ensure a fair and transparent electoral outcome. ”
Mr. Tony Aziegbemi said during an interview with Channels TV-” We are calling on the INEC chairman and on the commission itself to use this window as a provision in the electoral law that gives them the power to review results before they are authenticated. They should do a review before the final collation and the final Declaration of the results for the Edo State governorship election. Because you cannot have three different figures for the same election, it’s not possible something is wrong and we say INEC should look at it before they make their final decision.
While speaking further, he said- “And for the specifics, in Akoko Edo the votes recorded in the IREV is different from the one announced. The IREV results show that APC got 25, 010 votes but 34847 votes was recorded on the form EC8C. Why would the figures on the IREV be different from the figures announced by the LGA returning officer and you have seen an increase of about 10, 000 votes for the APC. And for the PDP, the total number of the votes from the results uploaded on the IREV is 18, 620 but the figures announced by the LGA returning officer is 15, 865 on the form EC8C. The question is why will these figures be different?”
