KILL IGBOS? Benin Man In Austria Asks Edo People To Poison, Kill Igbos, Including Children
Following recent statements by Abike Dabiri- Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), emphasizing the commission’ s focus on addressing bigotry among Nigerians abroad, attention has turned to a disturbing case involving a Nigerian man in Austria.
The man, identified as Kingsley, is originally from Benin and operates under the TikTok handle @papakins18. The situation came to light when a user on X, Chi Chi (@Sugargists), shared a photo and a viral audio clip of Kingsley.
In the audio, which has quickly spread across social media platforms, Kingsley is heard making alarming and hateful remarks against Igbo people. Speaking in a mix of English and Bini, he encourages others to target Igbo individuals, including children, both in Nigeria and abroad.
His words, filled with venom, even include a threat to poison Igbo people as a form of punishment. The content of this video has shocked many, prompting a wave of criticism and concern from the Nigerian community, both at home and in the diaspora.
The incident has also raised questions about the consistency of NIDCOM’ s actions in dealing with such ethnic threats. NIDCOM has previously acted against individuals who incite ethnic violence, such as in the case of Amaka Sunnberger.
However, many are now questioning whether the commission will respond with the same level of urgency and seriousness to Kingsley’ s threats. The public is calling on Dabiri- Erewa and NIDCOM to take immediate and decisive action to ensure that all Nigerians in the diaspora, regardless of their ethnic background, are held accountable for promoting hatred and violence.
As this situation unfolds, the pressure is mounting on NIDCOM to demonstrate fairness and consistency in its approach to addressing ethnic bigotry among Nigerians abroad. The outcome of this case will likely set a precedent for how similar incidents are handled in the future.
