Policeman Found Dead After Brutal Attack From Unidentified Soldiers, What They Did To Him Was Terrifying
The Zamfara State Police Command has denounced the fatal shooting of one of its policemen, Halliru Liman, by military personnel, strongly condemning the incident.
The Zamfara State Police Command is calling for a comprehensive and rigorous probe into the events leading up to the shooting, and currently insisting that those found responsible be held accountable and face appropriate disciplinary action.
On Thursday, 29th August 2024, the command’ s spokesperson and public relations officer (PPRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yazid Abubakar, released a report to the press expressing the command’ s profound distress and shock over the unjustified and tragic killing of Halliru Liman, who served as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Wasagu Division in Kebbi state until his untimely death.
He added that, the deceased officer, Halliru Liman, was en route to Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State to attend a scheduled meeting when he was intercepted by military personnel from Operation Dadarin Daji at Danmarke area in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, leading to the unfortunate incident.
ASP Yazid Abubakar also lamented that, despite Halliru Liman clearly identifying himself as a police officer, the military personnel from Operation Dadarin Daji shot and killed him on the spot, in a senseless act of violence that has left the police command in shock and grief.
Speaking further, the police correspondent stated that, in a disturbing and brazen act of aggression, the leader of the military team, identified as Hassan, callously shot Halliru Liman in the head, causing his immediate and tragic death, a senseless act that has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation.
Apparently, he is calling on the relevant authorities to swiftly launch a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic killing of Halliru Liman, and to take decisive action to hold accountable those responsible for his senseless murder, ensuring that justice is served and that such incidents are prevented in the future.
The press report read that, ” on August 28, 2024, at approximately 1030 hours, SP Liman was brutally murdered by military personnel led by one Hassan, attached to OPHD Sector 6, Dan Marke area of Bukkuyum, Zamfara State. The circumstances surrounding this heinous crime are alarming and unacceptable” .
” SP Liman, who was on his way to attend a monthly conference in Birnin Kebbi, was stopped by military personnel despite identifying himself as a police officer” .
” In a shocking display of aggression, Hassan pointed his gun at SP Liman and shot him in the head, resulting in his instant death. We condemn this unprovoked attack in the strongest possible terms and demand a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident” , he noted.
