An investigation has uncovered six food and beer centers in Delta State where teenage sex workers allegedly use powdered charms to lure men into sèxual intercourse. The centers, located in Umunede, Nnebisi road, Ubulu Okiti, Ibusa Round About, Jakpa Junction in Warri, and Uromi Junction in Agbor, have been identified as hotspots for teenage prostitution.
According to sources, the teenage sex workers, aged between 13 and 14, frequent these centers, where they use charms prepared by native doctors to attract men. The charms, made with pubic hair, pieces of nails, and bitter kola nuts, are said to be effective in making men succumb to their desires.

One of the teenage sex workers, Elizabeth Otasowie, revealed that she and her colleagues pay N40, 000 to native doctors for the charms, which they use to woo men. She claimed that the charms are effective in making men do their bidding, and that she has made a significant amount of money using them.
The investigation also found that the teenage sex workers prefer to operate at night, and that they often wear skimpy dresses to attract men. Many of the men who patronize them are said to prefer the teenage girls over older sex workers, whom they refer to as ” old- fools. ”

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mustafa Muhammad, has vowed to crack down on the teenage sex workers and native doctors involved in the charm trade. He stated that the police will monitor their activities and bring them to book, and that the blame lies with the parents who allow their children to engage in prostitution.
