Aloy Ejimakor, the lead counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has named two former high- ranking security officials involved in Kanu’ s extraordinary rendition.

Ejimakor’ s recent statement sheds new light on the individuals involved. On Tuesday, the lawyer took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his claims. He wrote, ” Do you know that Ahmed Rufai, who just resigned as DG, NIA, and Yusuf Bichi, who was yesterday replaced as DG, DSS, were vicariously responsible for the extraordinary rendition of MAZI NNAMDI KANU? Who is next? #TouchNotMyAnointed. ”
The revelation comes shortly after President Bola Tinubu announced the replacement of both officials. Rufai has been succeeded by Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed as the new Director General of the NIA, while Adeola Ajayi has taken over the reins of the DSS from Bichi.
Kanu’ s rendition and subsequent detention have continued to attract both local and international attention. His supporters argue that his removal from Kenya violated international law, while Nigerian authorities maintain that Kanu must face trial for his alleged role in promoting separatism and violent activities through IPOB.
