Quranic Teacher Lures Almajiri Minors To Mosque, Had Anal Sex With Them After Promising To Do This In Return
The police authorities of the Bauchi State Police Command have apprehended a 37- year- old Islamic instructor for allegedly kidnapping two underage Almajiri students from Katsina and sêxually assaulting one of them after deceiving the youngsters with false promises of providing financial support to establish a commercial venture.

In a press report issued on Monday, August 26, 2024, the command’ s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, revealed that the suspect, Abubakar Talba, attempted to shift the blame for his actions to a malevolent entity, stating that his actions were the result of devilish inspiration.
” The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested Abubakar Talba ‘ m’ 37- year- old from Hausari Dandal, Borno State, for abduction and sodomy” .
” While responding to a complaint from the community regarding his ill- treatment of the boys under the guise of running a Quranic school, the Detectives attached to Gamawa Divisional Police Headquarters led by the Divisional police officer immediately arrested the suspect” , it read.
During questioning, the suspect revealed that he had previously attended a Quranic school in Fagge, where he encountered one of his victims, 12- year- old Masaud Barau, in the BATA area of Fagge LGA. Masaud, a resident of Gamniya village in Niger Republic, was subsequently taken to a Quranic school in Rijiyar Lemo, Kano state, where the suspect had also spent time.
The suspect deceived Masaud Barau into traveling from Kano to Daura with the false promise of helping him establish a business. Upon arrival in Daura, the suspect met his second victim, 13- year- old Ibrahim Jabiru from Mai Mujiya village in Katsina state, who had been brought to the Tsangayar Malam Usman Quranic school under the guise of receiving financial support to start a venture selling touch lights and batteries.
Surprisingly, the suspect then transported the two boys from Daura to Danbatta, where he commenced the sëxual abuse of one of the boys within a mosque. Following an overnight stay in Danbatta, he relocated to Udubo Village in Bauchi State, perpetuating the sëxual exploitation of the victim.
” The Bauchi State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, psc, Anipr, will charge the suspect to court after the investigation is completed” .
” Similarly, the command implores members of the public to provide useful information that could help locate the parents or guardians of the victims” , the PPRO affirmed.
