F!re Destr0ys Two Churches, Furniture Workshop in Ibadan
An early morning Fire outbreak has destroyed two churches and a furniture workshop in Ibadan, the Oyo State. The incident occurred at Felele area of the city. Victims who spoke to Galaxy TV said they could not ascertain the cause of the unfortunate incidence.
Workers at the furniture shop said properties destroyed is over #25 million while calling on government to come to their aid. Authorities of the churches were not at the scene when galaxy news crew got there for their reactions but it is very visible that the inferno has wreck havoc.
Confirming the incident, a statement issued by the Oyo State Fire Service, said “The fire, which occurred at No. 51, Debo Plaza, opposite Lam Adesina Junction, Felele, Ibadan, affected a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and New Covenant Church, as well as a furniture shop”.
According to the General Manager of the Fire Service, Yemi Akinyinka, Firefighters swiftly swung into action and prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. He added that the fire mostly affected plastic chairs and PVC materials used for ceiling decorations, which were completely burnt.
