It will bring together key leaders, thinkers, and influencers to chart a new course for the North. ”
Shekarau highlighted the group’ s concerns about the progress of Northern Nigeria and their goal to develop a plan that will tackle its most pressing issues. He stated that the group intended to create a document that outlines the region’ s challenges and offers potential solutions, particularly in the area of security.
” We came together to analyse and review the problems bedeviling the northern part of Nigeria, ” Shekarau said during an interview with journalists. ” We need to embark on general societal reorientation to enlighten the people on their basic challenges and needs. ”
The former governor stressed that the group’ s efforts were not aimed at supporting any individual or political party. Instead, they hope to develop a guiding document that can be presented to any political candidate seeking the support of northern voters.
