The unsuspecting octogenarian was ambushed and beheaded by a group of ritualists, led by one Lucky Michael, who was paid N150, 000 to bring a human head for ritual purposes.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, sent shockwaves through the entire Abak town, with many residents expressing outrage and condemnation. A reliable source in Abak local government area, who spoke to Vanguard in confidence, revealed that the police had already arrested Michael and his accomplices.
According to the source, Michael was caught by the youths of Oku Abak community, who stripped him naked and forced him to take them to the farm where he committed the crime. The youths later called the police, who arrested Michael and his accomplices at the Abak Police station. It was there that Michael confessed to being paid N150, 000 to bring a human head for ritual.
An eyewitness, Ekwere, described the scene as gruesome, saying that Michael was found with the head of the 82- year- old woman. The police were able to recover the head, and an investigation is currently underway.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, CSP Frederick Nnudam, confirmed the incident, stating that some suspects had been arrested in connection with the crime.
