AFTER NYSC Invalidated 101 Certificate, SEE Message UNICAL Sent To Officials Who Issued FAKE Certificate To Graduates
The Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of the 14th Governing Council of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Udom Ekpoudom, has expressed deep concern over the discovery of widespread certificate forgery within the university. This alarming revelation has shocked the institution, known for its academic integrity.
Yesterday, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) made a startling announcement, invalidating the certificates of 101 individuals who were fraudulently mobilized for national service by UNICAL during the 2021, 2022, and 2023 service years.
This decisive action by the NYSC is part of a broader effort to clamp down on certificate fraud and uphold the integrity of the national service program.
In response to this scandal, which has rapidly become a trending topic, Pro- Chancellor Ekpoudom voiced his concerns during an interview with ” DAILY POST” . He strongly suggested that university staff might be involved in the criminal activities and assured that those responsible would face severe consequences.
” My belief is that those behind the crime are not far from University staff. We have since started investigations to uncover those behind this, ” Ekpoudom stated.
He praised the NYSC for its thorough investigation and for exposing the fraudulent activities. ” NYSC has done very well to have uncovered this forgery. This is just the first phase. The next phase is for us to find out those behind this saga, ” he added.
Ekpoudom also clarified that the individuals involved are not legitimate students of UNICAL, labeling them as ” criminals” who sought to undermine the university’ s reputation and the integrity of the national service program.
The university administration has pledged to work closely with the NYSC and other relevant authorities to ensure that all individuals involved in this fraudulent scheme are brought to justice.
