AFTER Court SACKED Wike’s Ally In APC, SEE What He Did In Rivers State
Tony Okocha, the recently dismissed chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has led a massive solidarity march in support of President Bola Tinubu through the streets of Port Harcourt.
This demonstration took place just one day after Okocha was removed from his position by a court ruling that reinstated his predecessor, Emeka Beke.
Okocha, who is known for his close ties to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, rallied thousands of supporters from various parts of Rivers State for what has been described as a ” mega rally. ”
The gathering was organized by the Renewed Hope Family of Rivers State, a group led by Okocha, which met at the Port Harcourt Polo Club before taking to the streets.
The demonstrators, carrying banners and placards, marched through the city, expressing their support for President Tinubu. The sheer size of the crowd led to significant traffic disruptions along Aba Road, a major artery in Port Harcourt, as the rally continued into the day.
As of now, the specific purpose behind the rally remains unclear. However, it comes at a time of heightened political tension in Rivers State following Okocha’ s removal from office.
His dismissal on Monday was the result of a court decision that reinstated Emeka Beke as the rightful chairman of the APC in the state. Beke had previously been removed from his position by the APC’ s national working committee in November 2023, allegedly due to involvement in anti- party activities during the last general election.
