Obasanjo Drops BOMBSHELL, Declares That Many Nigerian Leaders Should Be In Jail
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed to the masses the category of Nigerians that supposed to be in prison over the country’ s economy hardship and bad governance.
Chief Obasanjo, who welcomed six members of the House of Representatives who are co- sponsors of bills on single term of six years, said without a doubt, most Nigerian leaders deserved to be behind the bar. He added that this is the truth that must be told even though it’ s difficult.
” We have to rethink the form of government. But what about the character of the people in government? With all due respect, most of them should be behind the bar, some should even be in the gallows and that is the truth, ” he said.
He explained that it might be difficult to make progress if the same set of people with questionable characters are those occupying the political posts. He stated that, moving Nigeria forward is not all about the system and structure of government but also about the characters of the political leaders.
” Now if these are the people that are ruling us, then what do you expect? It doesn’ t matter whether you or whatever you make it, it will not, so the point is the character of the people that are coming to government. Their attributes, the sort of people they truly are, ” Obasanjo stated.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the former President’ s statement comes amid the claim that bad leadership is the major reason why Nigeria remains stagnant. On different occasions, many political officeholders were accused of stealing public funds meant for the development of their respective jurisdictions.
