The terms of reference of the Commission include organizing, undertaking, and supervising all elections and matters related to elections to the elective offices in the local government councils in the state.
According to the Anambra State Electoral Law 2024, other functions of the commission include the division of local governments into such number of wards or constituencies as prescribed by law for the elections to be conducted by the commission.
Civil Society Organizations, CSOs, and the opposition political parties in the state have been clamouring for the LG election.
