Nigerian police have arrested Kehinde Ganiyu, a 50-year- old herbalist, for killing his friend Emmanuel Collins on a hospital bed as part of a money ritual. According to reports, the incident took place last Thursday in Oba- Oke, Osun State’s Olorunda Local Government Area.

known as ” Yahoo boys. “Opalola
stated, “On July 18, 2024, at about
3pm, the Divisional Police Officer
(DPO) of Oke-Odo Division in Osogbo
was informed that a Ghanaian man
named Emmanuel Collins,
approximately 35 years old, was killed
by an unidentified individual at around
2: 30pm on the same day. ”
“Police detectives acted quickly, and their intelligence- led investigation resulted in the arrest of Kehinde Ganiyu, the deceased’ s close friend. ” Ganiyu admitted to committing the crime. She stated that police officers discovered four blood-stained blades, a jar of black soap, a traditional tray known as Opon Ifa’, a wooden box, two sponges, and several local charms.
In an interview with reporters on Friday, July 26, Ganiyu acknowledged to murdering his close buddy and using his throat to make ritual soap. I’m a herbalist and farmer. I used to perform rituals for internet fraudsters, but now they bring human parts.”
He explained, “I went to see my friend, Emmanuel Collin, because he was ailing. I cut his throat with a knife while he was still in bed. I utilized the body part to create ceremonial money soap for Yahoo boys. Following my friend’s death, there was widespread panic in the Oba- Oke community of Olorunda Local Government Area in Osun State. He was laid to rest, and I attended the service to express my sympathies and support to the others.
The suspect further stated that while at the burial site, he felt a profound sense of shame for the death of his companion, which made him nervous. People began to notice my behaviour and were suspicious. This prompted worries, prompting a police inquiry that ultimately pointed to me. “I was arrested, and the police discovered that I was responsible for his death, he explained.
