In a tragic turn of events, a rescue attempt ended in heartbreak as an entire family of five perished one by one while trying to save their pet cat from an abandoned well. The incident unfolded on a Tuesday night in Wadki village, Maharashtra, India. The well in question, reportedly used as a biogas pit filled with animal waste, became the site of a heartbreaking disaster for the Kale family. Around 5 p. m., their cat fell into the well, prompting a desperate rescue effort.
The first family member to descend into the well was quickly followed by four others, all attempting to rescue the trapped feline. Unfortunately, they became trapped themselves in the hazardous environment. The victims were identified as Manik Kale, 65, his son Sandeep, 36, Anil Kale, 53, Anil’ s son Bablu, 28, and Babasaheb Gaikwad, 36. These men, united by familial bonds and a shared sense of duty to their pet, met their untimely deaths in the process.
