IGBO MUST GO Protest! Yorubas Reveal Date To Send Igbos Out Of South- West; SEE Atiku’s Reaction
Amid the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest in Nigeria, some yet- to- be- identified Yoruba youths have revealed when #IgboMustGo protest will begin across the South- Western part of the country.
According to the report, the planned protest meant to send the Igbo people living across the South- West back to their region has gone viral on the social media.
A post by @lagospedia states that the protest will hold from 20th- 30th of August, stressing that the Igbos have a month to prepare and leave the Yorubaland for good. It also added that the Yoruba people in the South- East need to return home as fast as possible.
The statement reads, ” Lagosians and every S’ West stakeholders should prepare for the massive protest of #IgboMustGo on the 20th– 30th of August. They have 1 month from now to leave and relocate their business from all S’ West States. We urge all Yorubas living in the S’ East to return home. @Lagos_IBILE. ”
Reacting to the threat, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, urged the President Bola Tinubu’ s administration to take a decisive action to deal with people campaigning for the protest.
According to Atiku, the demonstration is troubling and fundamentally opposed to the principles of unity and coexistence that define Nigeria. He added that it’ s also against the constitution which allows Nigerians to live in any part of the country without intimidation.
” I urge all Nigerians to stand united against this divisive rhetoric and to champion unity, tolerance, and understanding. Our future depends on our ability to live and work together harmoniously, ” he added.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that many Igbos have on different occasions accused the Lagos State Government and other State agencies of targeting them and their businesses with some policies, particularly the destruction of properties masterminded by the Governor Sanwo- Olu’ s administration.
