Ex- Niger Delta militant Asari Dokubo has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu through prayer rather than cursing him. In a recent statement, Dokubo warned that those who curse the president would only bring misfortune upon themselves.
He emphasized that it is crucial for Nigerians to set aside political differences and unite in supporting the president during these challenging times.
At an event over the weekend, which was held as the country braced for possible nationwide protests against bad governance, Dokubo addressed attendees, urging them to pray for Tinubu rather than express frustration.
” The president must be supported at this moment to save this country, ” Dokubo stated. He highlighted that curses aimed at Tinubu would not affect him personally but would instead come back to haunt the people who cast them.
Mr Dokubo added, ” Those of you who can pray, pray for Mr President. Every religion says, ‘ pray for your leaders’ . When you are cursing the president, he is in the Aso Rock eating government food. The curse will not get to him. It would get to you first. ”
Dokubo also commented on the political landscape, referring to Katsina State as a stronghold for Atiku Abubakar, noting its significance in the political arena.
In a related development, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has appealed for patience and support for President Tinubu as his administration works to address economic challenges.
Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized the need for patience as Tinubu’ s administration implements reforms and seeks to improve living conditions. ” President Tinubu is gradually fixing things, ” he remarked, urging the public to allow time for these changes to take effect.
He cautioned against premature judgments and protests, highlighting that the president has only been in office for one year. The governor also praised the Onijagbo of Ijagbo land for his efforts in fostering peace and unity and expressed gratitude for the community’ s ongoing support.
AbdulRazaq assured that the government is committed to enhancing infrastructure and development across Kwara State, emphasizing that the success of these initiatives depends on collective support from the community.
