Violent Fight Turns To Tragedy As Pregnant Woman Dies After Heated Clash With Neighbour, See How It Happened
Another heartbreaking incident was reported from Ugep town, which is located in Yakurr Local Government Area LGA of Cross River State after a heavily pregnant woman collapsed and took her last breathe while fighting with her neighbour in a compound they all share as tenants.
Following the information gathered by local news reporters, a news reporter named Agba Jalingo made this tragic disclosure via a Facebook post on Friday, 26th July 2024 as this unfortunate occurrence triggered multiple responses and reaction from social media users who expressed their sympathy and dissatisfaction over the fact that the deceased pregnant woman got into a fight in the first place despite being conscious of her condition.
” The deceased woman’ s child was said to have picked a fight with a neighbour’ s child, which later degenerated into a fisticuffs between the deceased and her neighbour” .
” The deceased who was heavily pregnant lost her life in the process. It is not clear if the police have intervened” , the reporter revealed.
When contacted, an eyewitness from the compound where the incident occurred recounted saying that, the deceased wasn’ t directly involved in the fight in the first place as she only met her demise trying to defend her own child after he got into a fight with the child of their neighbour, whose mother did the exact same thing of interfering only for the situation to take an unexpected turn, leading to the death of the pregnant deceased woman.
” She was allegedly hit in the process of trying to intervene in the fight and this cost her life as she was immediately rushed to the nearest medical facility for treatment most especially due to her condition but it is sad that, the medical professionals on duty were unable to do anything about her condition and pronounced her dead some moments later despite efforts to save her and her unborn baby” , the witness noted.
In the meantime, the case has been reported to the police by the husband of the deceased and although, no arrest has been made at the moment but security operatives of the Cross River State Police Command are working diligently to investigate and unravel all circumstances surrounding the occurrence before the next line of action would be taken.
