Boko Haram invades Jakana Police Station in Borno, kills two, sets vehicles ablaze
Armed terrorists suspected to be members of Boko Haram on Monday invaded Jakana Police station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno state, killing a police driver and a woman friend.
The terrorist’s also set ablaze two patrol vehicles belonging to the police and members of Civilian Joint Task Force and a motorcycle, even as some arms and ammunitions were carted away by the rampaging insurgents.
Jakana is about 45kms drive from Maiduguri, located along Damaturu -Maiduguri expressway.
Sources confirmed to our Correspondent in Maiduguri that the terrorists stormed the Police Station at about 1am, where they engaged the security agencies for about three hours, overwhelmed them, and fled at about 3am.
The Executive Chairman of Konduga Council Area, Hon. Abbas Ali Abari in a telephone call with our Correspondent confirmed the incident, but insisted that he did not have details of casualties at press time, even though, he said, “Yes I received a distress call that Boko Haram Terrorists attacked Jakana Police station last night. I am speaking with the Divisional Police Officer, and whenever I get the details I will furnish you.” The Chairman said.
