Sultan Of Sokoto Lists 3 Countries Protest Almost Destroyed, SEE What He Asked Youths To Do Instead
Nigerians are advised not to participate in the planned statewide demonstration against hardship in the nation, called #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, by the Jama’ atu Nasril Islam (JNI), which is led by Alhaji Sa’ ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto.
The Islamic organization warned of the impending implications of the planned demonstration in a statement released on Friday by Prof. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, its secretary general. The statement acknowledged that the dissatisfaction and disillusionment being expressed by Nigerians are genuine and that the government must address them head- on.
The JNI said, ” Arising from the recent calls and counter- calls for protest in Nigeria, occasioned by food insecurity, inflation, abject poverty and escalating national security challenges, it becomes very worrying and requires immediate attention.
Thus, the Joint Security Committee (JNI), headed by His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ ad Abubakar, responsibly calls on the protest organizers, their clandestine and overt backers, other relevant parties, and the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) to promptly hold realistic and critical discussions before the situation worsens or becomes unmanageable. Undoubtedly, Nigerians are facing formidable obstacles; yet, protesting may not be the answer.
According to the group, ” The global landscape is replete with sordid tales of repercussions of protests in Libya, Syria, Iraq, US (Capitol Hill), Ukraine, Tunisia, Sudan, Russia, among others did not yield desired results, rather they rendered most of these countries either ungovernable or partly destroyed.
” A glance through the events in Kenya give some glimpses of what might envelop our dear nation Nigeria, which is struggling to survive the multiple challenges that dot the landscape of the country. Undoubtedly, protest in Nigeria could mar our efforts at addressing these challenges. ”
It stated that in order to ensure that the people of Nigeria have access to their lands and can cultivate them, the government must work harder to secure the nation, provide farming supplies at a reduced cost, encourage industrialization, and establish self- sufficient agro- business ventures throughout the six geopolitical zones.
