You Won’t Believe How Gunmen Abducted Deeper Life Pastor In Church And Did This [VIDEO]
On the evening of Monday, May 10, 2021, an unsettling incident unfolded in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, as unidentified gunmen stormed a branch of the Deeper Life Christian Church located in the Irese Community.
The assailants, arriving in a black Toyota Corolla, targeted the church during a late evening service, leading to the abduction of Pastor Otamayomi Ogedengbe. According to eyewitness accounts, the attackers arrived around 9 p.m., seizing the pastor and forcibly taking him to an undisclosed location.
Church member Paul, who witnessed the event, described the scene: “The pastor was kidnapped inside the church. They (kidnappers) came with a black Corolla sport car. He was kidnapped alone.”
The disturbing event unfolded as Pastor Ogedengbe and his wife attended a church program together. Despite the presence of his wife, only the pastor was abducted, a detail that has heightened concerns about the targeting of religious figures in such criminal activities.
The incident has drawn significant attention due to its brazen nature and the apparent targeting of clergy. In response, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the occurrence and outlined the ongoing efforts of the police force.
We are on their (hoodlums’) trail and investigation had commenced into the matter, “Mr. Ikoro stated, emphasizing that authorities are actively pursuing the perpetrators.
As of the latest updates, the abductors have not made any contact with the victim’s family, leaving the community and the church congregation in a state of uncertainty and distress. The police are intensifying their search and investigation in hopes of locating Pastor Ogedengbe and bringing those responsible to justice.
This incident is part of a troubling trend of kidnappings in the region, which has seen similar attacks recently. Notably, the area has witnessed other violent events, including the recent assault on an Okada rider and the kidnapping of Ondo state youth corps members, further underscoring the escalating security concerns.
