No SURRENDER, We Rather DIE On The Street- Angry Youths Tell Tinubu Ahead Of Protest
The youths in the Northern part of the country have declared that there is no going back over the plan to stage a nationwide protest starting from the 1st of August.
The young Nigerians under the auspice of Arewa Youth Ambassadors declared that the would rather than on the streets after being shot by the security operatives than to get killed in their houses by hunger.
This comes amid the pleading by some politicians, particularly members of the ruling All Progress Congress, APC, that the youths should exercise patient and suspend the already planned protest.
The politician claimed that President Bola Tinubu is doing everything to stop the hunger crisis and repost the economy on the right path for the betterment of the masses.
However, in a statement released to the newsmen, the Arewa Youths told Nigerians to ignore the report that the protest has been suspended. The youths added that nothing will stop them from storming the streets as scheduled.
The group said: ” There is no going back on our words, as the protest is scheduled for 1st August 2024. Everywhere in the world, people make government, not the other way round. But why should the government brought about by the people in Nigeria be only for those in the corridors of its power? ”
The youths claimed that without a doubt, the President Tinubu’ s starvation scheme will cause revolution in the country, stating that they would rather die by bullets on the streets than by hunger in their homes.
“Is Nigeria not even on the brink of revolution? Perhaps if anything has failed to strike a cord for its outbreak, President Tinubu’ s starvation scheme surely will. Because Nigerians would rather be killed on the streets by the security forces being paid through their taxes than be laid to death by hunger in their homes, and maybe on or in their beds. And, you know, hunger knows no bounds, ” the group said.
