The story of Devesh Adivasi, a 7-year- old boy from rural Madhya Pradesh, India, is both astonishing and unusual. For the past four years, Devesh has formed an extraordinary bond with snakes, many of which are venomous.
Despite the inherent danger, he has never been bitten. His fascination with these reptiles began at the age of three after he dreamed about them.
The next morning, he ran into the jungle near his village and returned with two snakes in hand, much to the surprise of his parents.
Devesh’ s daily routine involves venturing into the jungle to bring back various snakes. He not only plays with them but also bathes and even sleeps with them.

His father, Ragunath, expressed his concerns to Story Trender, stating that they have repeatedly explained the dangers of befriending snakes, but Devesh remains undeterred.
The villagers, initially shocked, have now grown accustomed to seeing Devesh surrounded by his slithering companions.
However, they remain cautious, keeping their children away from him when the snakes are around.
Currently, Devesh has around 15 snake friends, including cobras, which he casually brings home from the jungle.
Dr. MPN Khare, a general surgeon at a district hospital in Madhya Pradesh, described Devesh’ s relationship with the snakes as bizarre and potentially hazardous to both his physical and mental health.
Dr. Khare emphasized that while the snakes haven’ t bitten Devesh yet, the risk remains significant, and such an incident could instill a deep psychological fear.
The incredible and somewhat alarming tale of Devesh Adivasi highlights a unique human-animal bond that defies conventional understanding of safety and pet companionship.
