SEE How Man Ran Out Naked With His Girlfriend As Building Collapse In Abuja
One of the victims and his girlfriend, who narrowly escaped the collapse of a two- story building in the Kubwa area of Abuja, have recounted their harrowing experience, detailing how he ran out naked from the bathroom.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, a two- storey building located at Plot C31, Sultan Dasuki Road in Kubwa, Abuja, unexpectedly collapsed, causing widespread panic and drawing immediate emergency response.
The building’ s sudden collapse has left residents and officials scrambling to rescue those trapped and assess the damage. Among the last victims to be rescued was a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, who was found unconscious under the rubble.
This final rescue effort involved the combined forces of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), FCT Emergency Management Department (FEM), FCT Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, and the Nigeria Police Force. The corps member was quickly transported to Kubwa General Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Earlier reports confirmed that two victims, Abdullahi Masud and his female guest, had narrowly escaped the collapse and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Masud, who was at the hospital’ s emergency section, recounted his terrifying experience.
A security guard at the building, Ibrahim Bitrus, confirmed that about 15 residents managed to escape before the building came down. Another resident, who preferred to remain anonymous, described the chaos following the collapse.
” I heard a rumbling sound around 7 am. Initially, I thought it was from my next compound. When I came out, I saw the building had collapsed. Rescue teams were already on- site, working to save those trapped inside, ” she said.
The Acting Director General of FEMD, Mrs. Florence Dawon Wenegieme, assured that search and rescue operations would continue until all areas of the collapse were thoroughly checked.

This tragic event in Kubwa comes shortly after another building collapse in Jos, Plateau State, which claimed the lives of at least 22 people and injured over 100.
