Governor vows to punish thieves in govt, never to steal from the people
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has reassured indigenes that he will keep the State Treasury intact and not steal a single kobo belonging to the people, warning that anyone in his government who tries that will sorely be dealt with.
The Governor made the promise during the monthly N50,000 empowerment programs to 5,200 women across the state on Saturday.
He warned those shouldering the responsibility of distributing the monies to beneficiaries to ensure transparency as his administration will not tolerate corrupt acts.
“Since the beginning of our empowerment program in all the local governments of the state, this is the second segment of the initiative, and we are closely monitoring the disbursement and anybody who violates our efforts will surely be dealt with”.
Governor Yusuf expressed gratitude for the contribution of women since the beginning of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement and for voting for the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in the state.
