WAHALA DEY OH! Husband, Wife Shot Dead As Unknown Armed Men Invade Houses, Open Fire On Innocent Residents In Fresh Benue Attack
Three individuals, including an elderly couple, were reportedly fatally gunned down by armed assailants in the Ikpele community in the Agatu Local Government Area LGA of Benue state.

Local news reporters were informed by a reliable community source who wished to remain anonymous due to the delicate nature of the case that the assailants broke into the neighbourhood on Friday and opened fire Intermittently on residents of the region as they run helter skelter for safety.
He claimed that a number of individuals were severely hurt during the siege and most surprising part was that the locals were unable to identify the perpetrators of the heinous deed.
The native recounted saying, ” it’ s becoming difficult to identify the killers. Sometimes, the attack could be propelled by the communities involved in land or chieftaincy tussles while at other times, it could be a direct assault from armed herders” .

Reacting to the ugly and unpleasant experience, Godwin Edoh, a member of the Benue State House of Assembly who represents the Agatu state seat and who verified the incident, voiced grave worry about the ongoing shootings, massacres in the local government area LGA.
The congressman claimed that one of the victims of the most recent murders was an elderly couple.
Furthermore, calls to Phillip Ebenyakwu, the chairman of the LG council, were unsuccessful as of the time this story was published to the general public since his mobile device was unreachable.
When reached on Sunday night, 7th July 2024, the state command police representative and public relations officer (PPRO), the Superintendent of Police, SP Catherine Anene informed reporters that she needed to get a report regarding the occurrence before she would be able to say anything about the above- mentioned occurrence.
