“I Raped My 14- Year- Old Maid For 6 Years Due To The Death Of My Wife”– 51- Year- Old Man Reveals
In a disturbing incident from Anambra State, police arrested 51- year- old Unegbu Chika following serious allegations of sexual abuse against his minor house help.
Chika, a native of Isuofia in the Aguata Local Government area, was arrested after a whistleblower alerted the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare about the ongoing abuse.
The case came to light when the informant expressed concerns about the welfare of the 14- year- old victim, who had been under Chika’ s care since 2018. According to reports, the abuse began a year after the victim started working in Chika’ s household, when she was just eight years old.

The victim, in her statement to the police, disclosed that the assaults typically occurred during weekends and holiday periods, escalating in frequency following the death of Chika’ s wife.
During his interrogation, Chika attributed his reprehensible actions to the death of his spouse, claiming it was a mistake driven by grief and that he deeply regretted his actions.
” The act was due to the death of my wife and it’ s a mistake which I regret deeply. ” He said.
However, this explanation does little to mitigate the severity of the charges against him or the prolonged trauma endured by the young victim.
The victim described a sad ordeal where Chika took advantage of the absence of other family members to perpetrate the abuse, which he insisted she kept hidden. The fear of retaliation and the manipulative control exerted by Chika kept her silent until the intervention by the whistleblower.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, confirmed that Chika is currently in custody and that the investigation is ongoing. The police are committed to a thorough examination of the facts, ensuring that justice is served. The case is expected to be forwarded to the courts for prosecution upon completion of the investigation.
This case has once again highlighted the critical role that community vigilance and swift action by authorities play in protecting vulnerable individuals and bringing perpetrators to justice.
