The kidnapped parish priest of St. Raymond Catholic Church in Damba, Gusau, Zamfara state, Mikah Suleiman, has begged for assistance in order to be released. Suleiman, wearing boxer shorts and a blue T- shirt, is seen sitting on the ground and pleading for aid in a 51- second video footage that has gone viral on social media.
In the wee hours of June 22, at the rectory inside the church grounds in Gusau, the state capital, Suleiman was abducted by bandits. According to the priest, the bandits were only holding him captive.
” I am pleading for help to be freed from this place. They (bandits) told me that they don’ t keep people here for long. People don’ t stay for up to a week, ” he said.
