In its meteorological report, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, or NiMET, has forecasted significant rainfall in thirteen states over the next few days. This is a result of the Madden- Julian Oscillation, which is predicted to intensify over the course of the next week over the West African region.

Moderate to Heavy rainfall is also anticipated over parts of Zamfara, Kano, Borno, Gombe, Adamawa, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Lagos, Edo, Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra states.
