Tension In Village As Angry Mob Set Man’s Houses Ablaze After Pastor Gave
This Shocking Prophecy Irate youths in Agharoza village, Iboko community in Izzi Local Government. Area of Ebonyi State, have demolished and set ablaze their kinsman’s houses over an alleged fake prophecy. The youths, who were acting on a prophecy by Prophet Ubadimma, accused the victim of being responsible for the backwardness and misfortunes in the community. The victim’s properties, including his houses, motorcycle, yam barn, and farms, were destroyed by the angry youths. The traditional ruler of Ndieze Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Hyacinth Nwokpor, has banned prophets and prophetesses from operating in his community, citing previous problems caused by their prophecies.
According to Nwota Gabriel, an indigene of the community, the youths were misled by Prophet Ubadimma’s prophecy, which pointed to the victim as an evil man in the village. The victim had denied the allegations, but the youths refused to listen, instead taking matters into their own hands.
Gabriel explained that the community had invited Prophet Ubadimma to perform a three-day prayer program to identify and cleanse the community of evil elements. However, the prophet s accusations against the victim were deemed false and motivated by malice. Despite the victim’s pleas of innocence, the youths were convinced of his guilt and proceeded to destroy his properties.
The traditional ruler, HRH Eze Hyacinth Nwokpor, expressed concern over the damage caused by prophets and prophetesses in his community. He cited a previous incident where a man killed his father after a prophet told him that his father was responsible for his impotency. The ruler’s decision to ban prophets and prophetesses from operating in his community aims to prevent further violence and harm.
The incident highlights the dangers of blind faith and the importance of critical thinking. It also raises concerns about the role of prophets and prophetesses in perpetuating violence and harm in communities. The police should investigate this incident and ensure that those responsible for the destruction of property and harm to the victim are brought to justice.
The community should come together to promote peace and understanding and find constructive ways to address their problems without resorting to violence and destruction. The ban on prophets and prophetesses by the traditional ruler is a step in the right direction towards promoting peace and stability in the community.
