Terrorist A Lieutenant Colonel from the Niger Republic Army has issued a stern warning to Bello Turji, a notorious bandit kingpin, urging him to stay away from his country. In a widely circulated video, the officer disputed Turji’s claim of being elusive and alleged that credible intelligence indicated the bandit leader was being protected by the Nigerian government.
Identifying himself as part of a military unit in Zandar State, the officer responded to Turji’ s mockery of the Nigerien military’ s arrest of wanted terrorist Muhammadu Baleri, one of Turji’ s commanders. He vowed that Turji’ s reign of terror would soon come to an end.
On May 29, 2024, SaharaReporters reported the apprehension of Kachalla Baleri, leader of a notorious bandit group. The armed bandit was captured by Niger Republic’s troops during Operation Faraoutar Bushiya in Rouga Kowa Gwani, Guidan- Roumdji department, on May 28.
In the viral video, the military officer cautioned Turji about the severe consequences of his actions. He emphasized that Niger was different from Nigeria, where Turji enjoyed protection from the authorities. He stated that in Nigeria, unlike Niger, troops required explicit permission or orders to use force. He refuted Turji’ s claim of evading arrest or killing, even in Nigeria, suggesting a high-level conspiracy by Nigerian authorities to harm the poor, particularly those from the northern region.
The officer emphasized that Niger was not like Nigeria and warned Turji not to play games with the Nigerien military. He accused the Nigerian government of conspiring against its citizens by allowing Turji’ s reign of terrorism and protecting him from credible intelligence. He urged Turji to realize that he was insignificant and advised him to avoid confrontation with the armed forces of Niger, Mali, and Burkina Faso. The officer warned that if Turji ventured into the territories of any of these countries, he would quickly retreat, if he managed to escape at all.
Addressing Turji, the officer advised him to confine his criminal activities to Nigeria, where he could commit atrocities, kidnap innocent people for ransom, and kill with impunity while enjoying protection from the country’s military. He emphasized that the
Nigerien military was patriotic and did not tolerate treasonable acts against the country. The officer lamented that bandits like Turji had unfairly tarnished the reputation of the Fulani race, making it synonymous with terrorism. In conclusion, the officer warned Turji that his time was running out and that he would soon be apprehended. He compared Turji’s abduction of innocent people to his own inevitable. capture, asserting that justice would prevail.
