SEE What Shari’ah Court Ordered To Be Done To Man For Pretending To Convert From Christianity To Islam
The Kano State Shari ah Court,situated in Kura, recently issued a ruling in the case of a 25-year-old individual named Haruna Abdulkarim.
Abdulkarim had been found guilty of falsely claiming to be a Christian and pretending to convert to Islam.
As a consequence, he was ordered to receive 10 strokes of the cane as punishment.
Abdulkarim, residing in Koguna Ward within Makoda local government area, was detected by Hisbah personnel in Kura local government area following a tip-off.
His actions involved attending both Christian and Muslim religious services, masquerading as a Christian interested in embracing Islam, and seeking financial assistance under the pretext of charity.
His behavior prompted the Hisbah Commander in Kura LGA, Ali Alkasim Kura, to order his apprehension and transfer to the police for further inquiry.
Subsequently, Abdulkarim was brought before the court where he admitted to his wrongdoing, attributing his actions to financial difficulties.
Despite pleading for leniency and promising not to repeat his deceitful conduct, the court deliberated and decided to administer a punishment of 10 strokes of the cane.
Additionally, the court cautioned that
any future recurrence of similar offenses would result in harsher penalties.
After the court proceedings, Abdulkarim expressed remorse and appealed for forgiveness from the Muslim community, particularly those who had extended support to him. He assured that he had learned from his mistakes and pledged to refrain from engaging in such deceptive
behavior in the future.
Acknowledging the need for guidance, he expressed his intention to seek counsel from Islamic scholars to deepen his understanding of the religion. Similarly, on a Tuesday in 2022, police publicly flogged nine Muslim males in Gujarat’ s Kheda region.
As plainclothes police pummeled the
men, the crowd cheered. The police claimed that the individuals flung stones at a Navratri Garba gathering.
Local news station VTV Gujarati News also uploaded the footage, stating that” 10-11 heretics were brought to the village, where the police taught them a lesson in public at Undhela village.
