DEADLY Bandit Who Collects Taxes From Sokoto Residents Arrested In Foreign Country; SEE The Last Person He Killed
Kachallah Mai Daji, a notorious bandit infamous for burning down villages in Sokoto State, kidnapping hundreds and imposing levies on villagers for almost ten years has met his waterloo, Zagazola Makama reports.
The Niger Armed Forces (FAN) succeeded in apprehending him after he crossed the border between
Nigeria and Niger Republic. It was gathered that prior to his arrest,
Kachallah had killed two villagers who failed to pay taxes to him.
He was known for terrorizing the people around the North East of Illela like, Tozai, Sabon Garin Darna, Darna Tsolawo, Tudun Gudali, Basanta, Dan Kadu, Takalmawa, Gidan Hamma, Ambarura, Gidan Bulutu and many other surrounding villages in Sokoto State.
Meanwhile, bandits in the past few weeks have abducted over 80 people in fresh attacks on Nigeria’ s volatile northwest of Kaduna State.
Armed bandits stormed the Tantau ward of Kajuru Local Government in Kaduna State late in April and began firing sporadically.
A 58-year-old local trader Isah Musa told Anadolu, a renown journalist, that the incident instilled fear among locals.
*The attackers shot sporadically to cause panic everywhere, and for more than an hour, all I heard was gunshots. We began checking families in the morning and found that approximately 87 people were missing, “Musa said, claiming that they had been kidnapped by bandits.
Ishiyaku Bala, a member of Kajuru Youth Forum said the bandits also looted some local shops before escaping with the victims.
He blamed security agencies for failing to respond on time to secure the area and protect people from the bandits’ attack.
Mansir Hassan, a spokesman for Kaduna State police, was contacted by Anadolu to confirm the attack and kidnapping incident.
The incident was one of several abductions by armed and terrorist groups in Nigeria. It latest incident occurred just two weeks after another mass abduction in the region.
