On April 6, 2024, a 39-year-old Plumtree man was found guilty of raping a 26-year-old lady at Dingumuzi Bar while they were drinking beer. He was given a 15-year prison sentence. The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) claimed in a statement that the woman became so inebriated that she was unable to walk, and that the male took advantage of her condition to rape her in a remote area close to the Dingumuzi pub.
After the accused person was arrested, police officers on patrol in the area were notified by the bar owner, who was informed by a witness who had witnessed the sexual assault. According to NPAZ, the offender was given a 15-year prison sentence after he was been paraded in court and found guilty for carrying out the act. He was sentenced to years imprisonment for something he taught he will get away with.
