The Lagos State Police Command has initiated a probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of Anosikwa Patrick, who was reportedly stabbed by a police officer at the Skymall shopping mall in the Ajah area of the state on Saturday.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the police command, confirmed the incident and stated that the manager and chief security officer of the mall were in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Hundeyin assured the public that justice would be served, as the Commissioner of Police in the state, Adegoke Fayoade, had ordered detectives of the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to conduct a thorough and diligent investigation to ensure that the culprit was brought to book.
The police officer involved in the incident has been identified as Inspr Taofeek, a member of the visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos. Hundeyin. further stated that the police command was committed to ensuring that the investigation was conducted transparently and that the public would be kept informed of its progress.
