The Northern Elders Forum, NEF has
expressed its regrets that the region voted for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
The Northern Elders Forum, NEF said that the mistake of voting for the then- candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC has taught the North region of Nigeria a lesson.
The Northern Elders Forum, NEF recently came hard on President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when it lamented the growing insecurity across the country, Nigeria. The Forum said the that recent abduction of Kuriga school children in the state of Kaduna indicated that the current administration has failed to protect the people of Nigeria just a few months in office.”
Yesterday, Tuesday 9th March 2024, Abdul- Azeez Suleiman, who represents the group, told The Guardian that the region will prioritize unity and consensus when selecting candidates for the highest office in the land. It should be recalled that In the 2023 general elections, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu received 8, 794, 726 total votes to be declared President.
North West, North East, and North Central qave President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu a combined ballot of 5. 4 million.
Suleiman replied when asked about the recent visit and donation by former Governor of the state of Anambra Peter Obi to northern communities, he said-“The North made a mistake in voting Bola Tinubu to the presidency in 2023, and it is unlikely that they will repeat the same. error in the future.”
He continued-They have learned from their past misstep and will strive to select a candidate, who can unite the country and govern in the best interests of all Nigerians.” He went on to say that-“Moving forward, the North will be more cautious in selecting a candidate for the presidency. He added – They will prioritize someone, who is seen as more inclusive, less controversial and more aligned with the interests of all regions of the country. The mistake of supporting Tinubu in 2023 has taught them the importance of unity and consensus in selecting a candidate for the highest office in the land.”

wrong in 2023. their political plans failed them. Tinubu tricked them to believe that he was sick. the believing that he Tinubu will die and his vice will take over, they voted for him, now the revise is the case.
