SO UNFAIR! Young Man Locked Up & Tortured To Death Inside Generator Room After Being Accused Of Doing This
The 38-year-old owner of Our Guest Hotel, Ibe Obasi, which is located in Obowo Local Government Area LGA of the state, has been apprehended and taken into custody by police agents of the Imo State Police Command on suspicion of torturing a young man named Ebuka Udemba to death.
However, the unfortunate event occurred on Saturday, 6th April 2024, according to a statement made public on Sunday, 7th April 2024 by Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesperson and public relations officer (PPRO). The suspect is currently being interrogated by the police and was later handed over to the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID), Henry Okoye
revealed.
Narratively the press report read that, ” operatives of Obowo Divisional Headquarters have arrested the owner of Our Guest House, Umulogho, Obowo, Mr Ibe Obasi, aged 38, who was allegedly involved in the murder of a 25-year-old Ebuka Udemba, an indigene of Umuokpa in the Obowo LGA of Imo State”.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim was tortured and locked up inside the generator room of the said guest house by the suspect and two others at large, where he suffocated to death, on the accusation of stealing a customer’s handset”.
“Accordingly, the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Owerri, for consolidation of the ongoing investigation. He has provided useful information that will assist the determined operatives in arresting all the suspects in connection with the case, it disclosed.
In the meantime, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID has been tasked by CP Aboki Danjuma, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death and make sure that all suspects are apprehended and subjected to the full wrath of the law.
Sadly, while expressing sympathy to the victim’s friends, family, and other loved ones, the commissioner of police strongly objects to the heinous act and urges the people of Obowo local government area LGA, especially the Umulogho residents, to abstain from using force because the
command is in control of the situation and has launched an exhaustive investigation to capture those involved and connected to the murder case and bring them to justice by all means necessary.
