The two pastors involved, Prophetess Victoria Oyegbola and Abigail Shobayo, found themselves arrested and subsequently charged with assault, leading to their incarceration. According to reports, the defendants allegedly launched an attack on Morenikeji Isaac and Olayeni Opeyemi, tearing their garments and leaving them vulnerable in the public space. Subsequently, the accused pastors found themselves facing legal repercussions as they were apprehended by the Igando Division police and presented before the Ejigbo Magistrates court to answer for their alleged assault. Despite pleading guilty to the charges, they were granted bail by the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L. K. J. Layeni, under the condition of providing a surety and paying a bail sum of N50, 000 each.
As a result, the defendants were remanded in prison custody pending the fulfillment of their bail requirements, with the court setting a future hearing date for the matter.
