The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man identified as Salim Aliyu, a 22-year- old man who was suspected to be a notorious gunman terrorizing villages. in the State. The suspect is also a resident of the State who resided in Badarawa Kwaru. His arrest was coming after the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maraban Jos Division received credible intelligence from a source who reported about terrorist activities.
The DPO deployed his men to the location and this led to the arrest of Salin who was found with one AK47 rifle with Breach No. 01585, along with three rounds of 7. 62 x 39mm live ammunition. Also, a camouflage singlet and face cap of the Nigerian Immigration Service, a sharp knife, a desert handbag, a flier and a First Bank ATM card were found in his possession.
Another shocking item found in possession of the suspect is the complimentary/business card belonging to a serving Brigadier General of the Nigerian Army. Although the identity of the Army boss was not disclosed but his business car found in possession of the suspected criminal has attracted the reaction of concerned Nigerians.
When the police were interrogating the suspect, he confessed that he was on a mission to rob at Maraban Jos when he was ambushed and arrested. How he possessed the incriminating items found in his possession was not disclosed. Hopefully, the police will conduct an investigation and do the necessary things needed.
