There is a circulating viral video in which the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Chief Emeka Rollas, discloses the underlying reason behind the decision not to transport Mr. Ibu abroad up until his passing.
During the period when the veteran actor
was alive yet unwell, there were efforts by Nigerians to ensure his survival by facilitating his treatment overseas.
Emeka Rollas clarified that hospitals in the United States and India declined to accept Mr. Ibu due to concerns regarding his potential inability to withstand the transportation methods involved.
He highlighted that, given the actor’ s medical condition, it was deemed unfeasible for him to embark on a flight.
In his words, ” There was a time we wanted to fly ibu abroad, but when we escalated the doctor’ s reference and his prognosis, almost all the hospitals in India and America rejected him and said whoever that has this kind of prognosis cannot survive flight to any country. ”
