Man Leaves 3 Children Motherless, Beats Wife To Death For Not Paying House Rent- See What Happened
In a tragic incident in Rivers State, a father of three children, Michael Chidozie, allegedly beat his wife to death In Mile 4, Port Harcourt. The victim, Identified as Mrs Ufuoma Chidozie, was just 32 years old at the time of her death.
Reports suggest that the fatal incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday over disputes concerning house rent. Following the heartbreaking incident, the suspect, Michael Chidozie, was arrested by the police and is currently detained for further investigation into the matter in order to know what actually happened on that day.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, Grace Iringe- Koko, confirmed the arrest of Chidozie and shed light on the details surrounding the tragic event. Chidozie was apprehended by the Police personnel at Agip Police Division in Mile 4, Port Harcourt, following credible intelligence and transferred to State Criminal Investigation
The arrest came after credible intelligence was received, and the suspect was subsequently transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, for a comprehensive investigation. The wife had visible bruises that were believed to have been inflicted by her husband which subsequently led to her death.
Witnesses recounted that Chidozie had allegedly pressured his wife to take responsibility for paying their house rent, getting a heated argument that culminated in the tragic outcome. In the aftermath of the incident, the suspect reportedly fled the scene after calling the victim’s brother to the house on the pretense of an emergency.
Upon arrival, the brother discovered his sister lifeless, with Chidozie conspicuously absent from the scene, the abrupt loss of Mrs Ufuom left her 3 children orphaned with the trauma of losing their mother in a violent manner. The case explains the urgent need to address the scourge of domestic violence and provide support for individuals in abusive relationships.
