Kumah’s mother recounted that her daughter was informed that her boyfriend was being charged as an armed robber, a claim she vehemently disputed based on her own knowledge of him over a long period. Despite her disagreement, Kumah was asked to wait for the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer handling the case.
To her shock, Kumah was soon informed that she, too, was being detained in connection with the alleged robbery. During the interrogation that followed, CID officer Clement Suputour purportedly resorted to physical intimidation by using a metal object to pull Kumah’ s ears in an attempt to coerce her into confessing to being part of her boyfriend s gang.
