Popular Pastor Comes Under Fire After Comparing Ibu’s Death To Adeboye, See What Happened
A Nigerian pastor has got lots of social media users reacting over what he said as regards the death of popular Nollywood actor, John Okafor who’s best known as Mr. Ibu.
Recall that the Nollywood legend died after suffering from cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment at a hospital. According to reports, he died at the age of 62 and was survived by his wife and family.
As Nigerians mourn the sudden passing of Mr. Ibu, a Nigerian cleric, Pastor Fortune Makarios took to his Facebook page to share a post in which he stated what he learned from Ibu’s death and from Adeboye who recently celebrated his 82nd birthday.
He made the post, pointing out that Adeboye lived that long because he spent his life serving God.
He wrote;
The man on the left is a pastor, and he is celebrating his 82nd years old birthday today. The brother on the right is a comedian, and he just died at 62 today. What do you learn from this? Use your life to serve God, untimely death shall
not be your portion.”
His lesson’ however, have triggered a wave of mixed reactions as many Nigerians berated him for trying to make a point with the Nollywood actor’s demise. The attacks were so much on social media that the pastor had to lock his comment section to prevent people from commenting further.
His post has since gone viral as it circulated from Facebook to X (formerly known as Twitter) and also to Instagram.
