General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has cautioned against supporting a coup because of economic difficulties and instead has emphasised patience and the superiority of democracy. This was disclosed by him on Thursday during a press conference at the Nigerian Army 6 Division Headquarters in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, following the launching of some construction projects.
General Musa asked anyone advocating military coup to stop making such claims.
He declared, “We will always support democracy because it works better for us. Those who advocate for anything else are bad people who don’t care about us.” The laws will pursue them, therefore they need to exercise extreme caution.

Earlier, the freshly built officers’ transit accommodations and entrance gate at 6 Division Headquarters were turned on by the Chief of Defence Staff.
Over the past few weeks, protests have taken place in Ogun, Oyo, Kano, Niger, and other parts of the nation over the hardships faced by Nigerians. They have been protesting food inflation, the high cost of living, and other harsh living conditions brought on by the removal of the petrol subsidy and the forex crisis, among other issues.
Currently now so many protest is happening life in the country to reduce the level of hunger and hardship in the country and the Federal Government are expected to do something immediately before it Get’ s out of hand.
The Chief of Army Staff has threatened that he will come after a Nigerian planning any form of coup in the country.
