REVEALED!! 27-Year-Old Lady Reveals Why She Barb People’s Hair With Cutlass, See Shocking Reasons
Lydia Williams, a 27-year-old female barber, talks to TEMITOPE ADETUNJI about her career path and the reason she chose to use a knife rather than clippers. One day, my mother phoned my sister and me to say that we were done with secondary school and she wanted us to start learning how to sew. I made the decision to pray about it for a few days. When I went to get a haircut on one of those days, I realised how uncommon it is to find female barbers. The Holy Spirit then instructed me to become a female barber.
Thank God, things are improving from when I first started. It’s not been simple. For a woman, it requires more effort and time. You can only imagine how things would be for a female barber if clients occasionally questioned male barbers. To persuade clients, a female barber must possess exceptional competence, surpassing their male counterparts by ten times, which is acquired via practice and study. There is no other way to allay the clients’ concerns.
Indeed, it was real. I prayed and began my research because I wanted to do something that would set me apart or make me stand out. It dawned on me that since we use blades and clippers to trim hair, a knife ought to be able to accomplish the same. To the glory of God, I tried using a knife, and it turned out well.
Initially, I chose to do it on my own, but recently, people have been requesting to experience what it’s like to get their hair trimmed with a knife. Perhaps it will rank among the world’ s wonders or provide an experience that foreign visitors to Nigeria can anticipate.
As the only parent I had, my mother raised my sister and me by herself and has been a huge supporter of the road I have chosen. My friends, on the other hand, were taken aback upon learning the truth, and a few have offered some form of support.
