Stranger Breaks Into Family House, Robs & Strips Lady During Operation; See What He Did To Her
A man who goes by the name, Akinosun Omotayo, was convicted of robbing a family in Lagos state and made attempts to have carnal knowledge of a woman on New Year’s Day. As a direct consequence of this, he was condemned to ten years in prison after his arraignment in court.
Omotayo was first charged with three offenses related to attempted rape, theft, and violence that were charged against him by the Lagos State Government.
During the initial arraignment of the convict, Adeshola Adekunle- Bello, the state prosecutor, led by Titilayo Olanrewaju- Daudu, informed the court that Omotayo committed the offenses in the wee hours of January 1, 2024, adding that the unfortunate occurrence happened at Lekki County Home Ikota, No. Z46, In the Ajah neighborhood of Lagos State
The prosecutor also claimed that the accused took N415, 000 worth of items from one Olukayode Ojo, including a Macbook Laptop, an Infinix Android phone, two other cell phones, a pair of pants, a T- shirt, and a pair of canvass coupled with the fact that he, Omotayo also made an attempt to rape and beat the complainant’ s adopted daughter.
Speaking further, the prosecutor made it clear before the court that, the offenses were against Sections 297 (10, 262, and 171, of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015. During the trial, the complainant’ s daughter testified in court that on January 1, 2024, she left the kitchen after cooking and returned when she heard a sound.
She described how she went to open the door after assuming the sound was made by a rat only to be ambushed and pushed inside the kitchen by an unknown person.
The victim reported to the judge that the convicted individual, Omotayo grabbed her by the neck, ordered her to take him to her room with threats to kill her if she raises alarm.
Narratively, she went on to say that,”I led him to the sitting room from the kitchen, he held me down and tried to strangulate me, at that time, I bit him so that he could leave my neck”.
“He dragged me to the room where
grandma was, I quickly ran to grandma’ s back, thinking he would leave me. Then my grandma and I started pleading with him that he shouldn’t hurt us, but he didn’t listen instead he took my phone and grandma’s two phones”. “He was threatening grandma, so I left her back. He then tied my hands with wire, so I was no longer able to struggle with him again and later he led me out of the room to the entrance and asked me to lie down on the floor and was going to
rape me”, she recounted her unpleasant
experience before the court.
Conclusively, the survivor then asserted that the defendant, Omotayo then pulled off his boxers and her pants before exposing his privates but luckily for her someone pressed the doorbell at that point, and she took advantage of the chance to lock the door when he went to see who was there.
In addition, the victim informed the court
that she did not answer the convict’ s
knocks after which he entered the
children’s room, took a bath, changed
into the children’s clothes, took a laptop, the three phones, and escaped through the back door. She stressed on the fact that she waited for a while before calling for assistance because she was afraid.
