Gunmen Kidnap Christians, Take Them To A Forest & Send This Message To Their Family Members
Some Christians have become victims of abduction as they were attacked by armed assailants who took them to a forest in Kogi State. The victims were on a mission to preach the gospel in a village when their bus was ambushed by the kidnappers. A man who slightly escaped the attack revealed that his wife was one of the abducted victims, he narrated how the incident, how he escaped and what the kidnappers BET the relatives of the kidnapped
Unknown gunmen recently released their usual mayhem on travelers along the Kabba to Lokoja express road in Kogi State. A vehicle conveying Christians who going to a church convention was ambushed by the miscreants and all the passengers were abducted. The attack which was launched on Saturday led to the abduction of eight Christians, four men, two women and two female students.
It was gathered that the victims were Jehovah’s Witness members who departed from the Kingdom Hall in Kabba and were heading to Lokoja when they were ambushed on the road. Their abductors reported took them to a nearby bush and till the moment of filing this report, they are yet to regain their freedom.
The husband of one of the victims, Elupo Eliazer, who spoke to journalists narrated how the victims were kidnapped and the message the kidnappers sent to the relatives of the victims afterward. He said he, his wife and some other people were traveling to attend their church convention which was held in Lokoja, he decided to follow another vehicle because the Toyota bus conveying his wife was full already. Hadn’t been he was inside the bus, he would have been among the kidnapped victims.
Elupo said the Toyota bus had passed the vehicle he was traveling in before they had that the bus had been attacked and before they got to the scene, the assailants had already whisked all the passengers away. The kidnappers later sent a message to the relatives of the victims, demanding N30 million ransom and instructing them not to inform the police about it. The ransom was negotiated and the kidnappers had agreed to collect N2. 6 million for the release of those abducted Christians.
